What can be tables tables for the kitchen, the nuances of selection

Such an important element of furniture as a table for a kitchen table consists of a body, supports, facades, a cover and performs several functions. They cut meat and fish on the countertop, cut vegetables, roll out the dough, and install small household appliances. Inside the table you can store dishes and food. Often, a pedestal is needed only to give a complete look to the headset or fill the free space. It is optimal not to purchase individual tables, but a whole set made of one material. But if necessary, you can buy one item.

Types and sizes

Types of tables for kitchen tables:

  • single-door - standard width of tables with one door: 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 60 cm;
  • two-door - standard width of tables with two doors: 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100, 120 cm;
  • with drawers - to facilitate access to the contents of the table instead of the usual doors and shelves use drawers. Standard width of cabinets with drawers 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100, 120 cm;
  • under the sink - this type of tables can have one or two doors. They differ from ordinary ones in the absence of countertops, a back wall and shelves, which will only interfere with the placement of a laid-on sink, sewer and water pipes. The size of the cabinets for washing is selected depending on the installation dimensions of the mortise or invoice sink. The standard width, as with ordinary single and double door tables, is from 50 cm. If desired, a sink can be installed under the sink with sliding metal baskets of a special shape - with a cutout in the center under the pipes. They can be inserted into the table with doors or attached to the facades, like boxes. If the sink is mortise, then you need a countertop. When mounting, a cut is made in it;
  • with a drawer and doors - a table can have one or two doors. A small height drawer is located in the upper part, behind the door there is one shelf. You can store a cutlery tray, trays, a supply of napkins, or other items in a drawer. The standard width is the same as one and two-door floor cabinets;
  • under the built-in oven - for household appliances, kitchen furniture manufacturers produce special cabinets with niches of standard sizes that match the dimensions of gas and electric ovens. At the bottom of the table of the kitchen cabinet under the oven there is a drawer in which it is convenient to store baking sheets. If the hostess rarely bakes, then this box can be made on top. Using the oven will be less convenient (leaning lower), but in the box you can put items that are often needed. There is no rear wall for the cabinet under the oven;
  • under the microwave oven - the microwave stand differs from the table under the oven by the size of the niche and the height of the drawer. It can be used for built-in and conventional equipment. There is no single size standard for microwaves. If the microwave oven is not built-in, then the niche may be slightly wider and higher than it;
  • with concave doors - single-door cabinets with a concave facade usually complete the set at the entrance to the kitchen. Separately, such a table is set very rarely due to the peculiar shape, which makes its use for cooking inconvenient. The advantage of the concave facade is the streamlined shape, the absence of angles. Due to the complexity of the manufacturing process, such tables are much more expensive than cabinets with straight doors. Each factory has its own standard concave table width and only one. The production of non-standard is impossible, since the size of the housing is linked to the radius of the bend of the facade. Double-door cabinets with bent doors are also difficult to manufacture in a custom size. Each manufacturer has their own standard widths: usually 60, 80, 90 cm. The advantage of a two-door cabinet with concave facades is a great depth. The disadvantage is a more expensive countertop, such a lid especially increases the cost of purchase, if we are talking about a whole headset;
  • with concave drawers - the kitchen table with a drawer can also have a curved shape. Everything that concerns two-door rounded curbstones can be repeated about tables with bent drawers;
  • with a bevel - if you don’t want to hit the corner of the table when entering the kitchen, and a curbstone with a curved facade will be too big a waste, then you can end the set with a bevel. The walls of such a table have different widths, the door is attached to the one that is larger at an angle. The curbstone with a table-top with a bevel have a standard width of 20, 30, 40 cm. They do not do a non-standard;
  • with figured doors - some manufacturers of kitchen furniture produce one and two-door tables with facades of an unusual shape. For example, the cut between two doors is not made in a straight line, but in a wave, in the shape of the letter S, etc. Such tables look more attractive, especially as part of a headset, but cost significantly more;
  • under draw-out baskets - instead of shelves, any draw-out metal baskets can be inserted into any table with doors. This is usually done in cases where for some reason it is not possible to install a cabinet with drawers. Such tables differ from the usual ones in the absence of shelves. A variation of familiar baskets is the haul-out cargo mechanism. This device consists of two or three baskets connected in one structure in height. Standard cabinets for cargo have a width of 15, 20 and 30 cm. Roll-out systems with a width of 40, 45, 50 cm are less common.

Another option is a kitchen table with drawer. An ordinary four-legged dining table can be supplemented with a bedside table on wheels, which is put forward if necessary.

The standard height of the floor kitchen tables from different manufacturers is approximately the same, plus or minus 1 - 2 cm and is related to the height of the stoves - taking into account the supports and countertops about 86 cm. mounting a thinner or thicker cover. Many factories in the assortment have standard tables with a height of 10 cm more and less than 86 cm. Often, a low wall cabinet is installed on the floor.

The standard depth of the cabinets with doors is 57 - 58 cm. If necessary, this size is easy to reduce or increase. When ordering or buying a table of smaller depth, you need to remember that this is the size for the cabinets with drawers or baskets linked to the size of the sliding system. Tables of greater depth require the manufacture of non-standard countertops, which usually significantly increases the cost of the purchase. The depth of the countertop more than the standard (60 cm) looks bulky. If there is a stove next to such a pedestal, then an ugly gap behind it or a vertical difference in front is obtained.

Production of a table of any non-standard size is possible. It should be borne in mind that any deviation from the standard entails an increase in the price by 50 - 100% depending on the material and the conditions of the manufacturer's factory.

Hardware

The service life, ease of use of the table depends on the type and quality of accessories. On door hinges of curbstones it is possible to establish closer.A door with such a hinge needs only to be slightly pushed and it will smoothly close itself. If there is a need to save money, then instead of closers, an shock absorber is placed on the end of the upper housing part in contact with the facade. When closing, the door first bumps into it and the sound is muffled. Such shock absorbers can be installed under all drawers.

If it is not possible to place the dryer for dishes in a wall cabinet, then it is installed in the floor. To do this, there are special drying baskets designed for installation in the lower base (table cabinet with drawers).

When choosing a cabinet with drawers, you need to pay special attention to the type of guides, there are three of them:

  • roller or telescopic - such a box has walls made of chipboard and a thin bottom made of fiberboard, therefore it can withstand a very small load. These guides are usually placed on tables of small width (up to 50 cm);
  • metabox - the walls of a box with such a mechanism are made of metal, the bottom is made of chipboard, up to 18 mm thick. A box with a metabox can withstand a load of up to 25 kg. If desired, the metabox can be supplemented with a closer. He gently pushes the drawer after a slight push;
  • tandembox - this type of guide is always complemented by a fine-tuning. The bottom of the box is made of durable chipboard, the walls are made of metal or plastic. This is the most reliable and convenient option, but also the most expensive. Drawers with such guides can be supplemented with partition systems for a more convenient arrangement of dishes and products, a special tray for cutlery.

The lower part of the kitchen cabinet is often covered with a plinth of plastic or chipboard in the color of a table or tabletop. The standard height of the base is 100, 120, 150 mm.

Support legs for kitchen tables of curbstones are of two types:

  • simple - are made of simple black plastic, they are placed in cases when a basement will be installed at the bottom, behind which they will be hidden;
  • decorative - made of metal and plastic in the colors chrome matte and glossy, bronze, gold, have a more attractive appearance, you can not close them.

Legs of both types are adjustable and unregulated in height. If the floor in the kitchen is flat, then adjustment is not needed, but if there are differences, then only adjustable legs will do. When using non-decorative adjustable supports, it must be taken into account that the height of the base cannot be changed. If the height of the legs is greatly increased, a gap will remain between the base level and the pedestal. If it is greatly reduced, then the base will simply not enter. The bar is attached to the legs with special plastic clips. If necessary, the base is easy to remove.

Materials of manufacture

Cases of floor kitchen cabinets are made of chipboard with a thickness of 16 mm. The thicker the frame material, the more expensive the loop. Making a case of natural wood is possible, but the total cost of the table will be several times higher.

Facades for tables of kitchen cabinets are made of the following types of materials:

  • solid wood is the most expensive option; wooden facades do not tolerate temperature extremes and constantly increased humidity;
  • veneer - a more affordable option, the basis of the facade of MDF, covering veneer made of natural wood;
  • MDF “wood-like” panels (frame) in film or painted;
  • MDF boards painted (smooth) - it is possible to paint in any color from the RAL system;
  • chipboard panels covered with plastic - the coating can be matte, glossy, with a pattern;
  • chipboard shields in colored or wood-like film.

Particleboard facades in film are the most affordable, but the coating quickly peels off, especially if the cabinet is next to a sink or stove. A good option is the facades of the painted MDF shield. Over time, they can simply be repainted.You can decorate doors or drawers with glass inserts or bars. As a glass insert, you can use stained glass. The lattice is inserted into the facades of wood or "under the tree."

The table top (cover) of the cabinet can be made of:

  • Chipboard with a thickness of 18 mm coated with plastic, liquid stone;
  • artificial and natural stone:
  • tree.

A stone lid is several times more expensive, but will last much longer. Wooden tabletops are placed only on tables with wooden facades. They do not differ in durability.

Selection rules

Recommendations for choosing a table for a kitchen table:

  • cabinets with doors have a large capacity, but it is more convenient to remove the necessary item from the drawer. No need to bend down and reach deep into the shelves;
  • When choosing a table with a worktop and drawers or baskets, you need to remember that there should not be pipes, ledges, electrical outlets behind. Cutouts can be made in the back wall of a simple cabinet with doors, but it is impossible to change the depth of the drawers with tandembox guides or metal drawers. If for any reason it is necessary to install a cabinet with drawers in front of the pipes, then you can order a table of non-standard depth with metabox or telescopic guides. It will cost a little more. The cabinet with baskets can be pulled forward and ordered a cover of a non-standard depth (more than 60 cm), but this will lead to a rise in price and does not look very beautiful. If there is only one table or will stand alone, then a large gap between the wall and the cabinet will be visible on the side. You can order a side wall with a larger width;
  • a cutting table should have a width of at least 40 cm, optimally from 60 cm;
  • tables wider than 80 cm are not suitable for a small kitchen;
  • a single-door table with a door width of 50 and 60 cm is best replaced with a two-door. The wide door is inconvenient to use. When opened, it takes up too much space in front of the table;
  • for a small kitchen, it is not recommended to choose cabinets with facades made of natural wood or imitating them. Elements of a classic wooden kitchen set individually lose most of their appeal.

Posting Rules

Recommendations for placing tables tables in the kitchen:

  • You can not put kitchen tables with a cupboard closely at an angle with respect to the stove or oven. From constant heating, the facades will quickly deteriorate;
  • if the table will be next to the stove, then in addition you will need a protective metal bar for the countertop;
  • Between the sink and the table, under the oven or stove, it is convenient to install a cutting table with doors or drawers from a width of 40 cm. If there is only one cabinet, then it is better to choose a large width if the length of the wall allows it. This means an option for a small kitchen, when the sink, stove and table are in one line;
  • if there are several pedestals, then it is advisable to put them in one line (if the size and shape of the room allow this);
  • it is not recommended to close sockets, valves of gas and water pipes with tables;
  • the height of the cabinet installed under the window should be such that the wings open freely without bumping into the countertop;
  • kitchen tables with wooden facades are not recommended to be placed in very humid rooms;
  • if a built-in dishwasher is installed in the kitchen, then it is most convenient to place it in one line next to the sink cabinet;
  • the facade covering the built-in dishwasher does not open sideways, but forward. Therefore, if the dishwasher is placed at an angle of 90 degrees relative to the table, then a facade bar or a shield made of chipboard must be placed between them, otherwise the door of the dishwasher will run into an obstacle when opening it.
